Local 2620 Constitution Overwhelmingly Passes

October 17, 2011

Local 2620 is on its way to building a stronger union!

The results are in.  Thursday, October 13 the Local 2620 Advisory Committee counted the ballots and members overwhelmingly voted YES to the new constitution by over 93%.

This vote is a critical step in the process to build a stronger union. Improvements in the new constitution will bring greater transparency for Local 2620 finances and decisions, and more accountability for elected officers.

Thank you for your support.  This action of ratifying your constitution begins the process to elect your new officers and to lift the administratorship.

To ensure a smooth transition, training classes will be given to prepare the officers to carry out their responsibilities to run your local in accordance with the newly revised constitution, the Local 2620 Policy and Procedure Manual, parliamentary procedures and the AFSCME International Financial Standard Code.

Any members who would like to be appointed to the Local 2620 Elections Committee or the 2012 Negotiations Team can send a note including a short bio of their union activities to Amy Galatian at  agalatian@afscme.org.  Please note that you cannot be part of the Elections Committee if you are seeking an elected position.*
